When Grammar and Parsing Agree
Theoretical and experimental research on language has nowadays reached an extraordinary level of complexity. Generative linguistics has produced detailed maps of syntactic structures and computations that have significantly contributed to our knowledge of language architecture as an abstract system (Rizzi, 2012; Everaert et al., 2015). Psycho-/neurolinguistics has developed complex experimental...
متن کاملCurrent procedural terminology coding: do the experts agree?
During the past decade, the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) has revised the current procedural terminology (CP1) coding guidelines in an effort to clarify the work of physicians. In today's climate of health care regulation, the accuracy of how physicians use CPT coding to define their evaluation and management (ElM) services is receiving more attention. Because coding is tied to re...
متن کاملDeveloped smectics: when exact solutions agree.
In the limit where the bending modulus vanishes, we construct layer configurations with arbitrary dislocation textures by exploiting a connection between uniformly spaced layers in two dimensions and developable surfaces in three dimensions. We then show how these focal textures can be used to construct layer configurations with finite bending modulus.
متن کاملLearning When to Trust Which Experts
The standard model for prediction using a pool of experts has an underlying assumption that one of the experts performs well. In this paper, we show that this assumption does not take advantage of situations where both the outcome and the experts' predictions are based on some input which the learner gets to observe too. In particular, we exhibit a situation where each individual expert perform...
متن کاملWhen All the Observers of a Distributed Computation Do Agree
Architectures parallèles, bases de données, réseaux et systèmes distribués When all the observers of a distributed computation do agree Abstract: A consistent observation of a distributed computation can be seen as a sequence of states and events that might have been produced by executing this computation on a monoprocessor. So a distributed execution generally accepts a lot of consistent obser...
